We had seen the signs and were intrigued so we took a drive by Bistro Phil during the day and soaked up the beautiful view.
With a background in ski area management, I was taught that the condition of your sign indicates the condition of your business.If that was the case we were in for a treat. This time of year is great in Anguilla for there's just enough business to create a pleasant relaxed flow to all events on the island.
We were seated immediately out on the terrace overlooking the ocean. The waitress was very efficient and friendly. We had heard the pizza was the best on the island, so we ordered it as an appetizer along with the escargot.The pizza was excellent,great crust and ingredients. We commited a sin of sorts, by ordering steak in a French restaurant, but with apologies to Phil, it was our last night and we were temporarily "fished out".
The steak was brought, perfectly cooked rare, tender, Angus beef and it reminded my mate of the delectable taste of her Mom's steak.
The desert was...incredible a creme broulee for which they are famous. Eat it slow to make it last.
We sipped a fine house wine with dinner with a bottle of Evian to wash it all down.
One thing, change the name to a
more exotic Bistro Philippe warranted by the service and the fare.
