Bankie Banx,talented and articulate, is an Anguillan treasure and his music is ledgendary in the West Indies.He presides over his thrice rebuilt Dune Preserve (Perhaps the most creative and environmentally harmonious beach bar and restaurant in the Caribbean)with a velvet hand and his employess Roxy, Elvis and "house singer" King. Bankie personally greets all his visitors (you wont feel like a "customer") and soon you will feel that you are being waited on in your own living room overlooking the sea and mountains of St Martin.If your there on the right night, (Weds and Sunday?)you'll be treated to Bankies music which is rooted solidly in the island life and his travels abroad. Buy his latest CD and take Anguila home with you. The Dunes Preserve serves traditional Caribbean fare which we did not sample this visit. Go there to kick back,listen, relax and enjoy the view from high on the dunes.
