Anguilla Restaurant & Dining Reviews
Blanchard's 05/13/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
The reason that I vacationed on Anguilla was because I had read "A Trip to the Beach"- the book written by the Blanchards. I loved the book and it made me want to see Anguilla for myself. I was not disappointed with the trip or with Blanchard's restaurant. Blanchards' has a beautiful setting a few steps from the beach. The front of the restaurant is decorated with a path of lights leading to the beach, lush trees and flowers, and a fountain. The setting is romantic- very open and airy. The food was awesome- very small portions but good. The menu changes, but if they offer the caribbean sampler- you must try it! It was 3 small complete dishes presented on a muti-tiered rack. The chocolate trio was great for dessert. The food is expensive- within the range of most fine restaurants on the island- if not a little more. It was worth it. The service was a little slow- I dined at the time that the Blanchard's are touring the United States promoting their new cookbook. I think the service is probably better when they are around. Overall, I had a great experience at Blanchard's.
