Anguilla Restaurant & Dining Reviews
Cedar Grove at Rendezvous Bay 05/19/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
A vey well run, four star restaurant with some notable specialties. A taste treat is the appetizer, "Poppy-seed crusted lobster cakes with curried butter sauce" which is absolutely delectable. The "Anguillian Lobster Tail with leeks and zucchini tempura" is not to be missed and is a hugh lobster tail en tempura. Smoky does a great job in the kitchen and the wait staff is both efficient and very personable. Saturday is lobster night and Sunday Cedar Grove hosts a magnificent barbecue,on the ocean terrace, It's complete with Tiki torches, live music (perfect accompanyment to the setting) and more of Smokie's delicious culinary treats. We stayed at Rendezvous Bay and we highly recommend their meal plan (available for any number of days for your stay)which will allow you to sample several of the terrific menu offerings. Since prices at restarants on the island tend to be high (because most all produce and meats are flown in or imported daily) the plan offered by the hotel is a bargain. Bart, the manager of the resort, is a real hands on manager and a great source of local info.
