Sunsets on the Beach - Sandy Ground - Friday Dinner.
I chose this new place because I liked their menu and Boss was playing on Friday night. What a great find! The owner David and his wife moved here from New York. He is partners with Armel - whom everyone seems to know - she was not there - he said she was in St. Thomas - “wheeling and dealing” - but he was a great host, really a top notch guy and bent over backwards to keep everyone happy.
We asked if we could sit on the beach to eat - “no problem” - and he immediately set us up. I had the lobster bisque which was sweet with pieces of lobster and the crayfish salad. This was different than my noon time salad. It had big pieces of crayfish and greens, but the dressing was a vinaigrette, very, very good. Peter had the butterfish - something new - one of their house specialties - also very good.
Boss was playing while we were eating, but we were far enough away to hear him and still talk. When we were finished eating, David asked us if we wanted to go up to the bar and have a seat and we did. We had a blast. Boss is really good, he knows how to get the crowd up and moving - everyone was dancing and having fun. We left at 11:00pm - I had big plans of going over to Johnno’s to see the Mussington Brothers, but we both were dead tired and could hardly wait to get home to our nice bed!
