First time in Cancun and was looking forward to seeing and doing so many things. I didn t expect the biggest disapointment to be my visit to this so-called "Lobster" restaurant.
It started off badly when they asked what hotel I was staying at. Did it matter or were they deciding on how much to overcharge me on the status of my hotel..hmmmmm.
We were seated and told of the specials and the price and weight all done very briefly and leaving us quite confused. We went for the shrimp and lobster combination.
For an establishment purporting to give its clientele fresh lobster, 5 mins after we ordered the main dish arrived at our table, and after tasting it realized it was anything but fresh.
Having not had this kind of clawless "lobster" before, I cannot say whether the lack of taste was due to bad cooking or bad species. It was certainly the worst tasting lobster or lobster-like substance I have ever had the misfortune of tasting.
Just when I thought the evening could not get any worse, the bill came. They charged us $160.00 for a couple of soft drinks and 2 shrimp and lobster specials, deciding to add on $20.00 service charge for themselves. Wonderful!
All in all, avoid this place like the plague, there are better, cheaper and more authentic places in Cancun for tourists and locals.
