Pepperroni 01/12/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
finally a place in the DR that can be considered a real treat. Even a destination. I travel there frequently on business. The menu at this place has everything. The owner a nice chap by the name of Akilino, said he has 4 chefs coming from such restaurants as Asia de Cuba, China Grill, Le Buele, Tao and Patria. He seems to rotate the chefs between the location in Santo Domingo and another in La Romana located in the Casa de Campo Marina. He flies all of his ingredients in from New York 3 times a week. If you visit this establishment come with a big appetite the portions are HUGE, it can be considered family style. I have never been able to finish a full 3 course meal, and I am a well rounded person. I recomend the Teriyaki Tenderloin, Thai Beef Salad, Rissoto Osso Buco, Pepperroni Sushi Roll or any of the Burgers. The place is small only seats about 100 including the patio. so reservations are recomended. Even with reservations you could be in for at least a 30-45 min. wait. Dress is casual no shorts, I recomend a button down for dinner service, no shorts for inside seating.expect to pay about the same you would at any good restaurant in NY or LA (Avg US$50-60 pp) with drinks.contact me for any other recomendations on the island.frecome@hotmail.com
