On a recent visit to the Caribbean, I had the pleasure of visiting St.Lucia. This is surely one of the best islands in the region,combining as it does all the pre requisites for a perfect vacation. One aspect of a vacation myself and my wife particularly enjoy is fine dining, and here St.Lucia really excels. There are many ethnic restaurants, such as Indian, Chinese, Caribbean, Thai, International, Italian,etc. in other words, all tastes are catered for. The hotels themselves seem to offer just the bare minimum for their guests, leaving good catering to the varied selection of easily accessible restaurants.
The one restaurant we particularly enjoyed dining at was the Charthouse, where the service, decor and food was the best on the island. The steak I had there was the best I had ever tasted, and my wife said the same about her spare ribs. Our guests had local spiny lobster which they had seen the fisherman deliver earlier on in the afternoon straight from their boat. Can you get fresher than that?
They proclaimed it to be even better than Maine lobster!
The service was friendly and efficient, and comparing the prices to large metropolitan countries, we had a bargain!
