I am a regular visitor to the Caribbean,and consider myself something of an expert in Hotels and restaurants in the area.Imagine my surprise therefore when I discovered an unpretensious,but nevertheless excellent restaurant whilst in St.Lucia,namely the CHARTHOUSE.They specialise in US steaks,seafood and spare ribs(the ribs I tried were better than any I have ever tasted anywhere)The portions are more than adequate,and to call the steaks just tasty would be doing them a mis service.The staff which i understand have been there almost since inception 20 odd years ago were good without being overbearing.there is a good selection of local dishes,mainly seafood,and although it tends to be a little on the expensive side,ask yourself if you would prefer a lousy cheap meal or a little more expensive great one?
