St. Lucia Restaurant & Dining Reviews Reviews
Charthouse 04/04/2005
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Apparently this restaurant has been in existence for longer than any of its competitors, and after two visits on a recent vacation, I can see why! It is one of the few waterfront restaurants on the island, strangely enough, and its open-air atmosphere is truly Caribbean in style. There is an eclectic mix of Caribbean and 'international' dishes. In other words, something for everyone's taste. The dishes include fresh local lobster (crayfish to some), delivered daily by the fisherman who caught them. The best spareribs I have ever tasted anywhere! Fantastic charcoal broiled steaks (they also serve US prime meat)...the only establishment that does so, (including the most expensive hotels on the island) and other deliciously fresh seafood. Having sampled most of the other recommended restaurants, I can honestly say that the Charthouse is head and shoulders above the rest. Something not only I have noticed. When I was on the island it was the only restaurant that was full every night!
