We stayed at this resort from 9/8/02-9/22/02. We traded our time share to this resort. Our fist week we were in a studio, small partial kitchen, but got the job done. We were in phase I. Your deck faces the pool and partial ocean view (room 211). The second week we were in room 235, a one bedroom. This was in phase II, faced the ocean and pool, good ocean view, but because the room faced the ocean, there was hardly no breeze on the deck. What I can say, s that we have never visited Aruba in Spetember (usually November or December). There was hardly no breeze or clouds, but someone stated that this has been a different year regarding the weather and the breeze has not been as strong as normal. Because there was no breeze and clouds, it became very hot. There are lots of chickees and we were always able to get one.
The staff is great. I think possibly because we went in slow time, there were not many activities going on. There was a BBQ with entertainment one week, the second week they also had that plus another day with entertainment. The second week we saw more people out at night, but our last night found the bar closed by 10:30 p.m.
I liked the gym, they had weights (which I did not use), and several of each treadmills and bicycles.
I liked this resort a lot, but wish they had more activities and people were out more at night.
As always, Aruba is a great place to be. The people are friendly and it is a safe island.
We did Kukoo Kunuku with four other friends who happened to be there our first week, it was a blast as usual. BET was there on our night taping for a broadcast scheduled for October 6.
Aruba also had a great remembrance for 911 held at night. It was wonderfully planned and my husband and I enjoyed it. They put a lot of time and money into it. DePalm Tours offered free transportation. It was too bad that more Americans did not go to it, it was kind of embarassing for us that so few showed up, especially with all the work that went into the planning. It was very nice of Aruba to do this for America. They also had a song especially for that night, it is on sale in Aruba and proceeds go to several different charities. I doubt any other country did this type of thing.
In a nushell, we love Aruba and are looking forward to going again for Christmas and New Year's 2002.
