Hotel & Resort Reviews: Aruba
Manchebo Beach Resort 01/19/03
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
OK, we flew out of Dayton, Ohio although we live in Cinti. It worked out great because the Dayton Airport Inn allowed us to long-term park on their lot which made the overnight stay at the inn just about an even exchange. We flew United through Wash DC and then on to Aruba. We used Jansen's Car Rental and it was very convenient and we were treated well with no automobile problems throughout the week. WE arrived at Manchebo Beach in about 15 minutes and checked in very quickly and within another 30 minutes we were on the beach. The resort is a low rise and somewhat older but very well maintained with employees who were wonderful and helpful in every way. THe FRench Steakhouse was fabulous; try the Ambassador's dinner for 29.95, a 5 course meal well worth every penny. The Pega-Pega bar and grill was serving up great Brown Ladies and their food for a lunch break from the beach was very tasty but I will admit sometimes a little slow in arriving. THe employees led by Smiley were fun and there was always some live music. The sunsets were always fabulous. THe most impressive thing about this entire area is the beach. I have never in my life seen a beach this huge and uncrowded. Others who have previously stayed in the fancier hi-rise section with your Marriotts and Hyatts said there was no camparison. Those areas are always crowded. If you are not all that familar with the Manchebo Beach area it is between Costa LInda and Casa Del Mar. WE loved our stay and will definitely return there in the future. You can't go wrong with Manchebo Beach for location and friendly employees who will make your stay unforgettable. Any questions at all, e-mail me at ras6321@aol.com. Enjoy Aruba! Rick
