Early January 2003 I had a 7 day all inclusive break at this hotel.On the positive side the hotel has an excellent location in Holetowen with nice beach ,close to small but good shopping mall and fine selection of restaurants nearby.
The hotel has a nice exterior with pleasant public rooms and grounds. Bedrooms were reasonable size with good storage space and large comfortable beds. Small bathroom adequately equipped but could do with revamping. Mini bar but no TV.
The presentation of food was poor. Litle imagination in the selection of menus and quality could have been better.
The other negative factor was that generally the staff were unwelcoming. Service was very slow, even by Caribbean laid back standards. With few exceptions everything seemed to be accomplished grudgingly. The fact that the hotel is up for sale and staff received a minimal 1% pay rise may be a factor.
This is a hotel which could so easily achieve an excellent rating and if I had a spare $20 million I'd buy it.
