Cancun & Cozumel Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Moon Palace 01/18/2004
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Jan 4 to 11 2004. All inclusive. Most certainly a 5 star resort. Had a very good week with super service food and lucked out on a great room location. It is a huge resort with 2 main lobbys/restaurant complexs and over 2000 rooms. We were short steps away from one lobby, the main pool and the beach The other lobby etc was a 10 minute walk or a short shuttle bus ride that went every 10 minutes. There were really only eight restaurants between the two sections as 2 are more like a snack bar, but they were more then enough and as there was no reservations required we tried them all. Never had to wait to be seated and only 2 restaurants were a-la-carte and required long pants for men, all the others were buffet and shorts were the normal dress. As the Palace Group has 5 other Hotels in Cancun & Myan we could eat/drink at any of them and did try 2 others. There is a daily shuttle to the Cancun strip Hotels and you can get off at any of the three but the Myan Hotels required a car rental to get there. Never had a problem getting a lounge chair at the pool or beach, but shade was a bit difficult if you were not early. One caution...TIME SHARE sales. Right after check in they try to hook you by acting like customer service reps giving a quick outlook on the hotel facilities etc and then ask you to attend a meeting next morning for 1 1/2 hours and will give you some "Hotel" credits to attend. Take it if you want to waste a morning. If you want to avoid them from the begining look at their name tags. Hotel employees wear oval shapped name tags, the sales people wear square tags. Other then that we had no complaint and loved everything else.
