LTI Tuxpan 10/25/00
Reviewers Rating: Fair Just wanted to give my two cents worth of this hotel and the mentality of the people that worked there. First off I WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RECOMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. The idea that this would be a four star hotel is some kind of cruel joke. Let me start by saying that for a country that depends on tourist dollars, they do a very poor job of catering to tourists. The staff at the resort seem unable to comprehend the idea of SERVICE, which left us setting our own tables and getting our own dishes. The room were average, definately not four stars. The beach was like most others, but again they did not seem to comprehend any service mentality. To book any watercraft, it must be done at 9:30 am, otherwise you had no hope in hell of getting one. It was not a walk up sail away attitude. A last gripe, and one that in my opinion is grave, is their idea of a cocktail, no matter what you ordered consisted of grenadine, some rum and that was about it. No flavour to any of their drinks. Very poor. We had a storm for one night, which left the entire hotel to crowd around the lobby bar, designed to sit about 40. My brother brought it to a managers attention that perhaps it would b best to get the bartenders from the other rained out bars to help, however their idea of service prevailed, and simply left two bar tenders to wait on the 200 + thristy people. Now if this was not enough, LTI has a sister resort next door, however it is only rated a three star by the same tour operator (Signature Vacation). If you chhose, choose the LTI BELLA COSTA. It is far superior to the TUXPAN. Trust me I know. I went and saw. Unfortunately, my opinions were also expressed by many of the Europeans that we met there. To end on a more positive note, I have visited Cayo Coco, and it was very nice indeed. A warm and sincere staff that did their best to provide true value for my money. I went to HOtel TRYP, when it was the only one on the island. Take care
