This is a very average resort. We stayed in the Hotel which was Ok ish except we got a room with an inland view which is a problem because Cuban drivers have a habit of blasting the Horn of cars, buses, lorries ,coaches etc any time day or night and dont give a dam about the hotel residents, if you get a room with a Sea view you get all the endless noise from the pool activities and the all night bar. There are no face cloths and it is hard to get more soap sometimes but other than that the rooms are quite nice. The Villa pool is very nice with a swim-up pool bar and lots of space. It is quieter than the hotel pool where all the daily activities are. The beach is man-made and there is lots of sea weed and sharp coral in the shallow water and although it's nice to have the free Sailboards unless your an expert your probably kill yourself. There are lots of chairs on the beach and security not being up to much you get the odd local in trying to prise another Yankee Dollar out of you, God forbid you should visit Holguin/Santiago beggars buy the bucket load.. Watch out for the sea urchins farther out in the water. It is a short walk to the main beach in town all the locals seem to think everybody wants to Smoke Cuban Cigars and you get pestered both ways . . The town is only a 5 minute walk from the resort and they have a crappy little market there. there! . If you are into partying, the disco is open until 2 but if you want to keep going the bar at the grill is open all night.

The car hire firm next door charge $76 a day for a Jeep which wasnt even Air Conditioned, The roads are terrible, very few signs, and if you stop to ask the way they say" si signor $1 por favor"

If you lose you beach towel they charge $15 replacment, When we left, other residents had lost towels a tolal of 10 in all ," nice little scam "

I would recomend you Look elsewhere!
