cuba hotel & resort reviews

Breezes Jibacoa 11/26/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Recently returned from our 2nd trip to this awesome hotel property. First visit here was 2 years ago and we did notice some nice improvements. Will note these I go:)

ROOMS: a nice size, bright, great size balcony with new table and chairs. The maid was wonderful. Difference here was they no longer leave water in your room. You have a jug, and we had it filled at a bar everyday, had no problems. The hotel apparently installed a new water system a few months back and the reason for the changes.

FOOD: the buffet was really pretty good. They were trying very hard to keep eveything warm. The breakfasts were great, I loved the fresh bananas drizzled in chocolate, finally a breakfast dessert:) There were MANY managers around and this seemed to assure great service during all meal.

Biggest improvement in the food catagory was the CUBAN restaurant. We had actually decided not to eat here as did not enjoy it 2 years ago. Thank goodness we changed our minds. Introduced a new menu 5 months ago, it was great.

BARS: The piano bar is great for before and after dinner drinks. Had alot of fun here with other vacationers, a great place to meet! The bars all have new DRINK MENUS, an awesome idea. You have to try the coffees, I loved the Breezes Jibacoa, a great 'after dinner drink'.

OTHER: we noticed all new lounge chairs at the beach as well as all new tables and chairs at the beach grill. Nice to see they do put money back into the hotel:) The morning Hike and afternoon Walk with Eric are worth doing. He is a great guy and you learn alot about Cuba and the area.

I think the location of this hotel is wonderful. 2 mountains behind you and the ocean in front--is paradise!! Water was rough a few days, still enjoyed the scuba and snorkelling on the days we could. They could improve on the water sports equipment however.

This is a quieter hotel then most, but there are things to do, and very easy to meet people since it is so small.

We also noted changes to the tile down the main path, and to steps leading up to the pool area. There were many falls in the past when the old tile got wet, good to see they fixed this!

Sorry so long, we can't wait to return. Anyone with questions for me just post on the forum!! Happy Travels!
