El Senador Resort 10/01/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
I visit the El Senador on the week of January 10 to 17, 2003. It was a really great vacation without any problem. I'm going back this January for two weeks.

Flight: I had a flight with Air Transat leaving from Mirabel. If you didn't reserve your seats I suggest either you do it now or you arrived early because my cousin and I arrived at 3:30 am (we were leaving at 6) and there was no seats together anymore but that's nothing dramatic. We left 30 minutes late but we had a nice flight, no turbulence. We arrived at Jardines Del Rey at 9:45. It's a really small airport so it's easy to find your way. The hardest part was getting our suitcases, but again that's nothing. We waited maybe 30 minutes.

Check-in: Since your travel agency representant gives you your key in the bus you don't bother going to the desk when you get there. Just don't forget to put your room number on your luggages as soon as you have your room number so your suitcases won't get lost and they'll be delivered to your room right away. It's so nice when you arrive in the lobby the entertainment team are the dancing the famous Arriba Abajo for you, by the end of the trip you know all the song even if it's in Spanish and also the moves, it's as famous as La dance des canards(Duck dance) for us!!!

Rooms: My cousin and I shared a Villa on the Laguna Azul side of the Resort. It was really great. It's quiet and near the beach, the Laguna lobby and the disco and the pool with the animation. It's sure that you have to wait for a while to get hot water, little tip when you open the water pull up the little metal thing to open the shower the water gets hot faster.

Beach: Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!! Fine white hot sand, beautiful blue water!!!!!! But watch the jellyfish there's lots of them espacialy when it's windy....when I was there, there was a lot since it was very windy sometime. But on 7 days no rain and only one cloudy day, it's perfect score.

Entertainment: Very Very Good!!!! The shows at night where absolutely wonderful. The animation during the day was good too beach volleyball, dance lessons...The entertainers are very nice and friendly. The disco is fun but if you have the chance to go to the Salsatheque at the hotel just beside the El Senador, it's fun too. You dance all night long. If you go to the show don't forget to bring a coat or sweather since it's outside and it's chilly at night. If it's rainning the shows are at the disco. And don't forget OFF he'll become your best friend since there's a lot of mosquitos.

Food: Nothing great but it's ok. It's good but I'm sure you saw or you'll see better in your life.

Cigar lounge: It's a nice place to hang out between dinner and shows. After dinner you go there get a drink and enjoy jazz band since the show only start at 9:45.

Be sure you try a mojito, Rum Punch and bananamama, these are very good drinks. I would recommand this resort to anyone, you'll have a good time and you'll feel like rich people with the way you are treated and just by the look of the resort. Hope this can help you a bit. If you're going enjoy it and if you're still hesitant don't be....

I'm sure many people will agree with my opinion and many won't but I enjoyed it a lot so...
