The hotel is rated as a cuban five and an english 4+. we were to be there for 2 weeks. The gardens are immaculately kept, thats the good points, the food was generally of a poor quality with the exception of the international restaurant which had both good food and excellent staff. The service and attitude of most of the staff was poor unless you were tipping heavily, then the service improved. There is very limited space to sit in the evenings, and due to the tidal system in cuba there was not always a beach, which meant there was not always any room left by the pool. 8 miles away there is a secluded bay where the water is flat calm and deserted the beach is only about 15 foot deep but it is empty and peacful, near the beach is a beach restaurant serving the best lobster ever. We only managed a week here and moved to the Paradisus Rio de Oro in guadalavaca now this is a far better hotel.
