Disgusting place not worth a penny. You will see GREAT reviews on the internet but if you look closely they are usually made by Europeans. Euros have lower expecations/standards than Americans. In any case, smelly bed linens, roaches at the breakfast buffet, leaky halls, limited bath towels, terrible maid and restaurant service should not be acceptable to anyone. Even budget hotels should be expected to be clean and neat. While there many people appeared to be enjoying themselves, probably because being drunk and getting sun was all one could do to bear the experience behind closed doors. There were also peddlers on the hotel GROUNDS, not just the beach. Unfortunately, hotel is not centrally located and town is $15.00 one way cab fare away. Even a basketball at the courts could not be found - everyday it was a story that it was "coming." Locals advised us that many people arrive and then leave the Royal to go to the much more upscale Sandals or St. James Club. This place was so bad that I was compelled to write the CEO of Continental Airlines. Hint that the place has gone downhill - it used to be a Radisson but the company stripped it's name from the property.
