Just went and stayed at the Royal Antiguan for a two day layover until I went on a sailing cruise. When I arrived there to check in the clerk did not even tell us where our room was located, or offer help with our bags. Once we arrived in the room, the floors were dirty, bathroom extremely moldy and no towels to be found. Food was pretty bad too, and since it was in a remote location, you had no other choice. The mixed drinks that were served could be labeled as non-alcoholic, and any establishment in the US that served drinks like that would have there license revoked. The only good thing I can say about the resort is that it had a great view outside. The help at the hotel acted like they hated it there.
While at the beach you are aggressively pursued by vendors selling you tours or items for sale. Even when you say no...
All I can say is too bad the management of the hotel has let the place deteriorated to that extent because it has good potentional for the view and location.
