This hotel has a lingering reputation as a party place. We stayed there 3 nights. On arrival the staff was very helpful along with an offer of a free rum punch.The rooms, while classified as budget are roomy, clean,have new matresses, great water pressure and,on the main floor, open right onto the beach.The rates were substantially cheaper if one walked off the street than booking through your agent ($45US vs $75/night- a lot of hotels are doing the same thing given the slowdown in tourism). Runaway Bay is one over from Dickenson (Sandals/ Antigua Village)so is virtually deserted except for guests and a few locals.Want more crowds-5 min walk.Sat night is still party night with LOUD music. Sun & Mon night were quiet, the food was good and the stars were brilliant. Recommended- miss Sat night.
