Jolly Harbour Villas was fantastic, when we went to stay in April 2002. I'd read some not so good reviews before we got there, but don't believe anything negative. the resort was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful and the beach was a complete and utter paradise (we arrived at night and the sea was still turquoise)Our villa was clean and had a good view and was just minutes from the beach. We didn't bother hiring a golf cart and if you can use your legs, it's frankly a waste of time. There's a shuttle service round the resort (things are quite spaced out), and you can grab that when it comes past, or call reception and they'll send it to you within 10 minutes.
The only negative comment I would have to make is that almost everything involved some kind of charge and using the phones in the villas is a ridiculously expensive thing to try and do - better to use the payphone.
In terms of food, by far the best restaurant in the resort is the Driftood restaurant on the beach. If you're vegetarian, they'll put together all the accompaniments to the meat dishes for you, and their weekly barbecue is not to be missed! Much better than eating second rate pasta in the Italian restaurant near reception.
Jolly Harbour Villas is nice and big, but not at all crowded, and if you get to the beach early, you can easily get a beach shack. the weather's amazing and the boiling hot sun is so intense that the occasional bit of cloud is a very welcome relief.
