Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Antigua & Barbuda

Reviewers Rating: Great
The beach, calm water and resort grounds were excellent. The gardens and foliage on the resort were stellar. Very quaint understated caribbean type resort that was very quiet, private with nicely seperated smaller blocks of rooms most with own small pool and hot tub. Rooms are very nicely furnished and decorated but not too big and te bathrooms are small and need updating paint and new tiles. Food was generally very good with the exception of Japanese restaurant (terrible) and the Italian restaurant (marginal). OK Corral was outstanding--Very good steaks, lobster and prawns. Bayside was very good too, with the exception of some poor service at some sittings particularly at breakfast and lunch. Some staff had distinct attitude problems and appeared not to want to be there or provide service. Bar service was generally excellent and the quality of drinks was top notch. Beach vendors were sometimes irritating and would approach us often. We got married there and it was very well done. Only complaint was that our pictures were a little rushed and some shots were only taken once so if we blinked we were out of luck and they provided us with the picture anyways--not what I would call real professional. We would recommend this resort, but would not rate it 5 star despite the 5 star price and the promotional material advertising it as such. It is probably a solid 4.5 star given the less the stellar service at times and the poor attitude of some of the employees, as well as the lesser quality food at the Italian and Japanese.
