My husband and I were married at Sandals in October 2001 and the staff did a FANTASTIC job with everything involved with the wedding. We enjoyed every minute of it! In addition, the food was very good to excellent and the grounds were lovely. However, we did have a few issues with the resort. First, I would not recommend this resort (or return) because of the vendors on the beach. Every single day we were bothered by the same people trying to sell watersports, hair braids, marijuana, excursions, etc. It was really obnoxious and such a shame because it was really just a dozen or so people but it was annoying enough to make a big difference. Apparently, the beach is public so the resort can't do anything about the vendors. Some of them were so bold as to lean over the fence into the resort and ask for food and drinks. Also, we've traveled to several Caribbean locations and we noticed that although the people that worked at Sandals Antigua were pleasant, none of them (with the exception of the wedding coordinators) were what you'd call personable - no one really seemed to enjoy their job. They did what they had to do but none (really, none) of them were FUN or added to the experience. We did have a wonderful time and we don't regret getting married there but I wouldn't return unless we heard from someone that the vendors were regulated and the staff was more enthusiastic.
