Royal Antiguan 04/22/2003

I wanted to take my husband, two sons and their respective girlfriend/friends away for a week to celebrate my fiftieth birthday. Because of the numbers involved I was looking for a resort which offered something for everyone given the age span (from 18yrs-54yrs old)which wouldn't require a second mortgage. Having settled on the Royal Antiguan and booked I became quite worried on reading some of the reviews on this site, especially as we have always stayed in 4 or 5 star resorts on other islands. I need not have worried because I can honestly say that our holiday was one of the best I have ever experienced in terms of quality of service, friendliness of staff, the beach, and overall value for money. Most of all, the staff; who can generally make a break a holiday, were exceptionally friendly and polite; there was a lot of laughter and a genuine willingness to help. en; this includes the Elbow beach, Bermuda and the Almond Village resort on Barbados. I have been to eleven different Islands now, some more than once and I have no doubt that the Royal Antiguan, although lacking a little finery, is the best I've been to for all round ambience.Many, many thanks especially to all the staff in the Andes restaurant who stopped to sing 'happy birthday' to me, it made the final touches to a perfect holiday I shall never forget.
