Antigua & Barbuda Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews ReviewsRex Halcyon Cove

I just came back from a weekend at the Rex Halcyon Cove and was largely disappointed. If you are cross shopping this one and the Sandals up the beach, spend the extra money and go to Sandals. The Rex is a resort that may have been nice at one time, but is in serious need of refurbishment. The structures themselves are past the point of being able to be refreshed, to where a rebuild is necessary. I was also unsettled by the fact that I was able to walk onto the resort from the beach unnoticed (there is no security) and ask to be let into my room without showing any ID at all (my roommate had the key). Antigua is beautiful, but the Rex was not worth the money I spent. The food, the staff and the resort are in serious need of an overhaul.
Situated amid several acres of tropical gardens and the white sandy beach of Antigua's Dickenson Bay, the Rex Halcyon Cove is a breathtaking Caribbean retreat.
All 210 spacious air-conditioned rooms have private bathrooms with shower, telephone and balcony or patio.
Take a break from the beach and enjoy a tropical cooler or savor the delicious barbecued food from the Beach Bar and Terrace.
Rex Halcyon Cove offers guests a choice of either an all-inclusive package or European plan; see room descriptions for further detailed information.
