My boyfriend and I just returned from a week at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. It was our first time in Aruba, so we didn't really know what to expect. But after our week there, we are definitely going back and will definitely stay again at the Holiday Inn!!!
Absolutely everything at the Holiday Inn was GREAT (which makes me wonder why more people don't mention/recommend it?). The room was large and very clean with A/C which we could regulate ourselves. The beach (Palm Beach) was beautiful (no rocks) with plenty of shade available and the Iguana Pool bar close by. Lots of water sports were available...parasailing (which we did for the first time - awesome experience), jet skis, banana boats, tubing, etc. The motorized water sports were not included in our package, but the rates were quite reasonable.
We elected to go "all-inclusive" which was not only a bargain, considering the price of dining out in Aruba (especially if you like your cocktails) but made it so much more relaxing - no worrying about where to go to eat or how to get there, no hesitation in ordering another round of Pina Coladas, no feeling that you'd better finish all your meal because you it's costing you $18.99!! ALL food and drinks and tips were included, so we didn't have to worry about carrying money around with us.
The breakfast and lunch buffets were very good, and the evening poolside buffet and entertainment were quite enjoyable. They also have a reservations-only restaurant which we ate at one night, and the food, service, and ambiance were superb.
The casino was fun too.... except that they kept most of my money!! Oh, well...... :-)
The staff were all very friendly and eager to answer any questions we had.
