This was (unbeknownst to us) a time share renting rooms. It does have a great beach and you can get a good view. However the staff and hotel policies made the vacation a complete frustration. If you ever wabt to experience all the bad parts of caribbean lifestyle (poor service, stupid rules, idiotic policies than MUST be followed) stay here.We just wanted a nice room for the weekend with a great view of the ocean and a place to go to the beach without crossing a busy street. Well it turns out that at Casa Del Mar all the rooms on the beach side of the street are called "beach side" even if they have absolutely no visibilty of the beach. Many of the rooms called "beach side" do not have ANY view of the beach. Since the hotel is a time share, weeks are split Saturday to Saturday. I don't know if any other time shares are this way but we got one room, stayed the night, had to check out at 1PM Saturday, check back in at 4PM Saturday, get our luggage to the new room and get unpacked again. Of course we couldn't just hang out on the beach while all this happened and show up at our new room. We had to physically be there to do all this. Loosing a good part of the day on a weekend outing to accomodate the hotel rules. Plus charging lunch to your room is bit of a trick when you don't know what it is. Take my advise, don't use this hotel. Aruba is a very nice place and I highly recommend it. Don't screw it up by staying at Casa Del Mar.
