Following a disastrous start to our holiday (see review of the Regent if you're interested!), we walked into this hotel and were instantly transported into Caribbean holiday mode...bright furnishings, lively music etc. The staff are extremely helpful (way beyond the call of duty in some cases) and there is a lovely friendly atmosphere prevailing where nothing appears to be too much trouble.
We had a garden villa room and the semi open air bathroom and vaulted ceilings made it a wonderfully romantic room. It should be noted that whilst all villa rooms are classed as the same catagory you need to ask for one overlooking the ocean as the sound of passing cars is not quite the same as that of the crashing waves! Also if you want a balcony ask for a first floor room as this is the only one in each villa with one, but then you don't get the vaulted ceiling..so the decision is yours!
Actually not having a balcony is not a problem as there is a large ground floor terrace with loungers and chairs. This is next to the plunge pool and jacuzzi which is shared between the 3 rooms in each villa. The villa rooms are also smaller than the bedrooms in the main hotel, which are huge, but although they are nicely furnished and decorated etc are still a standard hotel room.
The food in the hotel is equisite with a la carte service 5 nights a week and wine glasses that appear to top themselves up! The barbeque night offers delicious food and actually makes a nice change. The one buffet night offers much the same food as the lunch time buffets but as its only 1 night a week its not too much of a hardship.
The hotel was full when we were there but there were still plenty of loungers on the bea --(Submission error, remainder of review not received. Chani, please repost if necessary.)--
