Having been to Barbados three times already, and knowing how friendly the locals are and how much there is to see and do on the island, staying in a place like Divi Heritage is a real plus!
The only downfall at Divi is that children are not allowed. We would love to go back (and may some day) but usually take our children with us.
This resort is not an all-inclusive (which is how we have stayed in the past), but it's OK, because there's a lovely kitchen complete with stove, frige and microwave and there is a grocery store across the street as well as many locals selling fresh fruit and veggies. Food is a little more expensive than home . . . make sure you check out the price at the grocery store before you buy from the locals!
The complex is fairly small in comparison to some, but make no mistake! The suites are the size of a large apartment. We stayed in a one bedroom which consisted of a large living area with two sets of doors on to the patio, a kitchen, dining area, bathroom with sink, toilet and shower, huge bedroom with bath (and jicuzzi).
Divi is right on the beach but has no pool, however, you are able to use all the amenities of the Almond Beach Club next door including their pool and equipment. It's also a wonderful place - we've stayed there (all-inclusive) as well.
Barbados is a wonderful island paradise, and Divi is a great place to stay. We would go back in an instant!
