Silver Sands Resort 01/16/02

Having just returned from my third stay at Silver Sands, I thought I would pass on my comments to fellow travellers.Situated on the southern tip of the island and therefore quite a way from any "lively places", however there is a bar called Mike's and another just opened outseide the main entrance. Self catering option is better here as standard rooms are under equipped and the food and drink in the hotel bars and rest. are overpriced. We have 3 kids agen 10,9 and 7, it suits them entirely,with the pools and the lovely beach ( there are lots of windsurfers in this area by the way )there is a "computer, play room" for the children also and beach towels are availible from reception. have always found the reception staff extreemly helpful and pleasant, the bar staff can be a bit "carefree" with the service, put this down to the general laid back atmosphere in barbados, and don't tip them if you feel they are not giving you a service. overall, a great place to come with children, not so if you are a couple looking for an action packed holiday.
