Barbados Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Escape at Prospect Bay 12/20/2003
Reviewers Rating: Great
A lovely hotel, set on the beach. This is a Virgin Flagship hotel, although the "Flagship" is over rated.
If you're a light sleeper, or truly want to feel as though you have "escaped", make sure that when you book, you upgrade to either a superior or deluxe room BUT also specify that this must have a sea view...what the brochure doesn't mention is that the front of the hotel, and hence, many of the standard, superior, deluxe and Spa rooms overlook a main road - this is the equivalent to the M25 and just as noisy ALL NIGHT LONG!.Reggae buses are fun but not that fun at 6am!.
For an all inclusive, this is the best food I have eaten...there is waiter service in both restaurants in the evening, good wine that doesn't taste like white spirit and Kenny makes fantastic but potent cocktails!!
Try the Garden Restaurant in the Spa area for truly relaxed dining...Cecelia is the manager and is very accommodating...there are two menus alternating each week. One point to consider is that they don't separate non-smoking from smoking in this restaurant but do in the main one. Try the fishing trip if you can - you can bring your catch back and the chefs will cook it for your supper.
One last point - bring your snorkel!
