Just read the reviews from June 2003 on this Hotel - where my partner and I stayed late June / July. This was our second time at the hotel (previously in 2001) and as soon as we went in, we were recognised and made welcome. It isn't luxurious, but in the brochure it is described as basic and it is kept clean. No, the food is not gourmet, but neither is it that bad. There was an excellent choice of drinks (definitely try one of the BCC cocktails - heaven!!) The beach may be across the road, but worth the few extra yards walk. This was not only our opinion, as there were several couples there for the 2nd and 3rd time. The live music was not always to our taste, but other guests enjoyed and you can't please everyone! We found the staff friendly and they often gave us tips on what was happening locally and what to go and see. The island is fabulous - 3rd year running we have been - and the locals are so friendly. If anyone fancies clay target shooting and/or good food in great surroundings (including swimming pool) - try Kendal Sporting Ground at Carrington, St. Phillips. If I can find this hotel at the right price and right time this year - we will back again. I just find the island totally addictive.
