My wife & I spent our honeymoon here, although we did not opt for the honeymoon package. We were extremely pleased with all phases of service at this resort. Also, the food was excellent at all of the restaurants; in particular the ambience & food at the El Rancho was "magnifique". Everything was very clean & in good working order, the staff very accommodating. The grounds were very well kept, the atmosphere quiet, the location great, the beach beautiful. The water was not Caribbean crystal clear at the beach, but not dirty. Out from the beach just a short ways it was clear. I think this was from the shallowness of the beach area as you could walk out into the water a few hundred feet and be only waist deep. We saw dolphins & a whale in the bay. We had a garden view room & saw many birds along with other wildlife. A spot we must & will return to. The only drawback is the distance from the San Jose airport, however we enjoyed a cab ride over the mountains & a ferry ride across a bay. On the return trip we flew in a 4-seater airplane back over the mountains, direct from the resort to the airport. With all of the activities & some staff dedicated to the children, this is also a great place for families. Two thumbs up!
