Reviewers Rating: Great
The hotel is surrounded by rainforest and a river (with hot springs). It is a gorgeous setting. The rooms very very pretty and spotless. There is one main pool, plus another smaller pool and a couple of hot tubs. All are filled with very warm (in varying degrees) of volcanic spring water-just terrific. You should also swim in the river which is cool and clean, with spots of very warm spring water-an unforgettable experience!!! Also, be sure to warm up in the natural hot rock sauna!!!! There is a spa where you can get a massage, a volcanic mud mask / mini facial, and a pedicure. There is only one restaurant at the hotel. It's quite large and has about 7 or 8 tables outside on the balcony overlooking the rainforest and the stream (which makes for a great dining view)! A full chicken dinner was about USD $8.00 as were most other entrees, soup was about $3.00. The menu isn't very big but the food is good. The volcano is about an hour away, which we did as a night tour. There is a tour desk in the hotel and it is run by Frank of "Frank Tours". He does private tours from the hotel which is very similarly priced to group tours. Our daughter loved the zip line tour. Please be advised; it is VERY difficult to see the volcano errupt during the rainy season!
