Xandari 03/14/2006
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
What can one say about paradise? Xandari is located above San Jose. It is absolute heaven. Wonderful staff, exceptional food, acres of lovely gardens, trails, waterfalls, etc. We cut our stay short in Guanacaste, Fiesta Premier Resort and Spa and hired a driver to take us to San Jose, Xandari. There are private and semi private villas. We chose a private villa and I cannot begin to describe how beautiful it was. The villas are painted wonderful colors, blues, purples, yellow, ochres, colors that I could not imagine coming off anywhere but at Xandari. The villas blend in with the gardens and are wonderful. We walked into the foyer, the great room held the beds, kitchen, sitting room. We had a separate sun room with a daybed benches and a beautiful view of the coffee plantation and jungle. We also had a private sunning patio, a outdoor dining area under cover and a large open deck. The bath was huge and had a very large walk in shower. The restaurant had wonderful fresh fruits and veggies grown on property. The food was 4 star quality. The staff was attentive without being invasive. We walked for miles through cultivated gardens and wild areas to waterfalls. The spa was the best that I have ever experienced. You may rent a private Jalape (unsure of spelling) with a spa tub, a massage table and shower. I had reflexology and also a private scented bath. I never wanted to leave and I plan on going back in the very near future. The only thing that I can say negative about Xandari is that I my stay was too short!
