Coral Princess 06/05/01

We stayed at the Coral Princess in Cozumel for a week. The hotel was clean and nice. Basically it was like a Holiday Inn or Super 8. The room was tiny. The TV only got CNN, Cinemax and HBO with some local channels. Reception day by day was different on the TV. We attended "Happy Hour" some nights. We went into San Miguel four nites to eat. The food definitely was lacking in quality at the hotel. The personnel were all polite and nice. We met Pedro and Humberto, the brothers. They were great! The biggest thing that we noticed was the push for timeshares so be careful because it is really a con job. We were not bothered with this at the Coral Princess but elsewhere it was a big thing. The snorkeling is great at the Coral Princess in fact better than at Grand Cayman. The only holdup was that to snorkel you had to get into 10-15 feet of water. The beach is manmade at the Coral Princess. We found the food to be really lacking in quality, although we did eat in San Miguel and had a decent meal. There is a fiesta in San Miguel at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday nites and it was probably the highlight of our trip.
