We did not expect the unbelievable treatment from the attendants at Gran Caribe.
We were served tropical drinks while we were standing in line to check in. Although they did not book us in the room that we had requested, they quickly found a solution, and we had an even better room than the one we had originally requested.
Woman simply are not allowed to open their own doors or bring their own plate to the table from the buffet.... that is a major no-no at Gran Caribe. The staff absolutely loves to wait on you, and they definitely dote on the women. The Bell-boy loved his job, you could tell by the way he made sure that we were comfortable. He spent about 15 minutes with us answering any questions that we may have had. The food was good, or as good as Cancun cuisine can be. The room was so beautiful. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean. We had coctails delivered to our room and we just sat on our over-sized balcony and listened to the ocean. Total serenity.
During the day, there were peacocks roaming the grounds. They were so beautiful. The pool area was our favorite place during the day. The swim up bars are great, but the swim up swings were awesome. So if we got tired, we just went over to a private area of their beach and laid in the hammocks. They also have a very large dive tank for anyone who wants to try scuba diving. Gran Caribe is in the center of the action. There is so much to do just by walking. We went on a tour of Isla Majeras. The boat ride was so much fun.. we played games and made lots of friends. Then, we went snorkeling while some stayed behind to shop. We went back to the rest of the group and did more shopping. The natives served us the best lunch we had ever eaten, and they were so pleased to do so.
Overall, the beach at Gran Caribe is not the best beach in Cancun by far, but the service and quality of our stay was worth every moment.
Gran Caribe knows how to treat their guests, and you leave feeling very rested and excited about returning.
