Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Cancún & Cozumel
Iberostar - Quetzal (in Playa del Carmen) 01/07/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My husband and I spent our honeymoon here Sept 1999. We had a fantastic time! The resort is just beautiful...the lobby is open and includes a beautiful garden view. The beach is also very beautiful, but be prepared for some topless women...not all, but some. The pool is really pretty with a large fountain in the middle, but is shared with Iberostar Tucan, so it's crowded. It was sometimes hard to find a lounge chair and a shady area. So, get up early for that one. There are children there, but we didn't find them annoying. Mostly people are quiet and respectful. The restaurants were okay. We found the food to be pretty bland as we are used to Tex-Mex...spicy! It was not spicy at all. The entertainment was just that entertaining, but not spectacular. The service is good and always with a smile. There was SO much to do off of the resort! We planned a snorkeling trip on a catamaran Fury - in Cozumel. They took us to 3 different snorkeling spots - just gorgeous and then to a private beach...cooked burgers for us and played some beach volleyball before returning. Then, we took a trip to Xel-ha - a MUST do!! The Mayan Ruins were interesting, but not worth the 3 hour bus trip (one way). We loved it there and would definitely go back.
