My wife and I just returned from a trip to this resort after 4 days, in February 2002. Although it was a quiet and relaxing environment, this was the worst vacation we have ever been on all due to the poorly run resort. There were so many problems with phones, plumbing, electricity, and maintanance, I couldn't begin to list them all. The worst part, however, was the food. It was nearly impossible to get reservations at one of the resort's two mediocre restaurants, which left guests to eat at the buffet. The food was beyond terrible. The bars were understocked and understaffed. Beach towels and chairs were nearly impossible to ghet unless you were lucky. A free excursion was included, but they could not get everybody their because they only offer a very limited number of people each day from the resort. Many guests complained to staff and management but with absolutely no satisfaction. I wouldn't necessarily criticize the staff, but it is quite apparent that the place does not care about their guests and makes no attempt to remedy already poor situations. Before you think this was just one guest who had a bad experience, every guest we spoke with during our stay (about 60-75) had nothing but negative things to say. As a matter of fact,the most fun we had was sitting around and laughing at how bad this place was. Thankfully, we went on some day trips and excursions where we could get some decent food. This is an all inclusive resort, so we had already paid a heavy price for the lousy food and drinks, but needed to go elsewhere and pay again so we wouldn't go hungry. This place was terrible and is not worth even half the amount they charged. Perhaps this place is going through some turnover or remodeling, but they have a long way to go to make this place acceptable.
