Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Cancún & Cozumel
Moon Palace 07/26/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
This was our second time to the Moon Palace. This visit was in April, 2002 and we travelled with out two kids, ages 7 and 9. Resort is about 30 minutes south of the Cancun hotel strip in area known as the Mayan Riviera. Secluded but gorgeous setting, all-inclusive resort. Rooms all have 2-person jacuzzi tubs, spacious with lots of marble and very nice furnishings. So many restaurants to choose from - we had everything our stomachs desired (including sushi daily) and the only thing we did not find was lobster (although the giant shrimp offered daily was an excellent substitute). Great variety of good quality food - and something for everyone's taste and lots of seafood, steak and fresh fruit. Excellent service from all of the service staff - no complaints here whatsoever. Lots to see and do - gym, minigolf, massages, kids club, lay by the absolutely gorgeous pool that meanders on forever, kayaking, sailboarding, parasailing and jetskiing (fee for motorized activities)... Golf course was not yet completed for this visit but looks like it will be a great course. Beach area is large and nice although the water had some seaweed due to the coral reef off the beach. What I loved most was the totally all-inclusive feature -we went with $500 traveler's checks and returned home with $380. All food, drinks, entertainment, tips, even tours (recommend Tulum and Xpu-Ha) were included in the price we paid up-front. We couldn't ask for more and will return yet again.
