we took a charter flight via apple vacations to cancun 11/02 arrived in cancun at 8:30 am. to the hotel by 10am. the room was ready!!!! (we were on the sunrise side--the newer side--i hear all apple and funjet get this side because that's were their rep's desks are located) the room was beautiful (pinata 1521) large 2 person hot tub in room, didn't take long to fill and bubble bath was provided. large stone shower was awesome. mini fridge with beer,pop, water restocked every 48 hours. towel swans with flowers in room daily. tv was satelite--but only 2 english channels (cnn and nick). beach has some seaweed which they try to control (seewead looks like pine needles) the pool is awesome--huge always chairs availble even with mercedes booking 1000 rooms for a convention. pool service is great. swing bar is a must see. try electric lemonade! plenty of bottled water everywhere. kids club room is small but kids (ages 3-5) loved it. restraunts large selection, seafood fresh and good variety. best restraunt--oriental at sunrise! golf cart taxis a great bonus. . .although resort is definetly walkable. i question the handicap accessability of this resort--limited elevators, lots of restraunts with stairs and even restrooms with stairs. pirate ship playground and mini golf look brand new--needs benches to rest.tours--isla mujeres--swim with the dolphine--highlight of my trip. tulum/xpu-ha. . .can't climb ruins(since 1998) x-pu ha--sister resort--great beach, great snorkling and even saw sting ray on beach in knee deep water. shows--say family fun--but language may be too adult. friday night in the lobby at nizuc--awesome puppet show(interactive) a must do for kids. kitchen tour well worth the time spent--very clean food is fresh and "home-made". all employees go thru metal detectors before coming to work. all in all security is very tight. pool room only open 10am-10pm. minimal indoor kid activities (no video games), no pool floats. and one last point. even though tips are included, tips are expected!!!!
