Excellent
First off, Quetzal and Tucan are basically the same place seperated by the pool and the open air theater and the small jungle walk. The Quetzal side being just a little more beautiful in my opinion. Our room was spacious and very clean, huge shower. Very nice. The grounds of the resort are simply beautiful. The small jungle walk is filled with wildlife like turtles, lizards, flamingos, peacocks, black howler monkees (cool!), some ferral cats, and some critters that I don't know the names of. It's one of the best parts of staying here.
The beach is great, very clean. It does get crowded early though. Luckily the big crowds didn't show up until 2 days before we left. Nice huge pool too. The evening shows at the theatre are a little cheesy but fun enough.
The food is great all around. The buffets provide enough choices for everyone. The steakhouse and the Italian restaurants are great too if you choose to make a reservation.
I really can't say anything bad about Iberostar Quetzal and Tucan. The service is unparalelled. Everyday you wake up to a nice clean beach. I say that because the resort next door didn't seem to clean up after last nights partiers very well. Iberostar remained spotless every day. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Playa del Carmen in just a short cab or scooter ride away, and a fun way to spend an evening. 5th Avenue is long and full of fun.
We visited Iberostar Cozumel for the heck of it. It's nice too, but much smaller. I didn't think much of Cozumel in general unfortunately. Aside from the great dive sites the island is over-rated in my opinion, full of timeshare hounds.
Anyway, I'm quite sure that when I go back to Riviera Maya I will look no further than Iberostar Quetzal. You WILL NOT be dissappointed.
