Cancun & Cozumel Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Bahia Principe Tulum 01/29/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Fabulous resort, upscale, super clean, beautiful just very impressive. Clean, tidy. Well manicured landscape on both Tulum and Akumal. We stayed at Tulum for one week end of January. THe grounds are immaculate and huge. They have shuttles all over the resorts, its great. Food was outstanding, buffet especially at the Yucatan dining room. Rooms clean, neat and well decorated.
All the activties off-site are so expensive in US funds. We are Canadian so the rates were too much. We took the public bus into Playa Del Carmen 2x, $1.50 US or 150 pesos. 30 min ride. Playa Del Carmen is a nice little town, lots of shops and the beach is lovely too.
The only down side of our trip was the beach at the resorts, too rocky and full of corals. There were 3 pools, but too cold to enter.
Our favorite alla carte resto was Fruitas Del Mare, specifically fish based. Mia Mamma I did not like too much. We also tried Dolce Vita, Italian and quite good.
People in general are very nice. Lots of spanish, american visitors, german too. Specifically an adults place, few families and kids.
There is a hacienda across from Tulum, which is within walking distance. Lots of shops, an internet cafe, Koadk place, disco, you can bargain with the vendors.
The lobby at both Tulum and Akumal are truly spectular. Our's Tulum was my favorite.
We had been to the Mayan area before and stayed at the Rui Tequila was was amazing and we can honestly say that staying at the Tulum was even more of a wonderful place.
There are tons of activities on the resort as well.
It was a very restful and romantic trip.
We'd highly recommend TULUM to anyone.
If you wish to write me, please do.
Happy Travelling.
