Riu Tequila 05/11/2003

My husband and I returned yesterday from a week at the Riu Tequila in Playa Del Carmen and we had a wonderful time. Even though this resort is not directly on the beach, the pool and the other amenities make up for that. We had access to the beach at the Riu Yucatan and the Riu Playacar directly across the cobblestone road (a 5 minute walk).
We had access to several restaurants. The buffets were good for breakfast and lunch but we preferred the Steakhouse for dinner (reservations required). The food was above average to excellent at most meals.
Our room was very nice and spacious. The only problem we experienced was that a small lizard had found his way into the room. We called the front desk and someone was sent to remove him within a few minutes!!
The staff was constantly cleaning around the hotel...this hotel is very well maintained!!
We would definitely return to this resort in the future. This was one of our most relaxing and enjoyable vacations to date and we travel several places a year!!
