Xpu-ha Palace Resort 06/10/2003

Oh dear Xpu-ha you let me down this time.
We went back to this resort after such a wonderful holiday in November.
Dont get me wrong the Resort is still beautiful and we did have a good time but there are now a couple of things that are really changing the hotel not for the better and the chances of us returning are probably nil.
The main reason is that whilst the hotel sets out to be Exclusive for some reason best known to the Management every day apart from Sunday they were busing in coaches full of tourists from other palace resorts. These people had little care for the Eco Park that Xpu-ha is set in leaving all their rubbish all over the beautiful beach and generally acting in a borish manner. The people staying in Xpu-ha are being pushed out by these day trippers and on a couple of occasions we left the beach area because we could not stand the inconsiderate behaviour.
If Xpu-ha wishes to maintain its exclusivity it needs to if not stop this severely limit it.
When we first visited in November there were visitors from other hotels and we ourselves visited other palace hotels but it did not feel like a daily invasion.
If I had wanted to stay at a hotel that was acting like this I know I could have stayed at another hotel and have saved myself a considerable sum of money.
We loved this resort in November, and are so dissappointed at the treatment of the guests at the Xpu-ha.
Also beware, when you visit other Palace Hotels they no longer take you straight to them, they stop at a Jewellery Factory which takes an hour of your time and you get to the other hotels that much later.
This was never mentioned until we had almost arrived at the Factory.
I write this with such a feeling as in November,I would have recommended this hotel to everyone.
Unfortunately as it has now changed I no longer vote it Excellent which it really should deserve but now no longer does.
The staff are still lovely, food very good for an all inclusive.
But check out would have been much nicer, if they had said thank you and we hope you enjoyed your stay.
