We spent Thanksgiving week here this year and thouroughly enjoyed both the resort and the island itself. All rooms face the ocean. Large and comfortable, w/powerful AC. Fully equipped dive shop. All watersports available onsite. Huge pool w/swimup bar. Great meals onsite at two different restaurants. We went on the all-inclusive plan (food, drinks, non-motorized watersports), which was a fantastic bargain for five. Our group ranged in age from 45 to 12 and there was something for eveyone: beautiful water/beaches, discount shopping, nitelife, wildlife, Mayan ruins, etc. The resort regularly puts on special events nights. While we were there we were treated to a Mexican feria, complete with music, dancing, buffet, and tropical cloudburst.Insider hint: the eastern coast of the island is uninhabited, undeveloped and practically deserted, including the white sand beaches.
