Cancun & Cozumel Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews Reviews
El Cozumeleno Beach Resort 06/14/2004
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My wife and I visited Cozumel on 6/4/04 for the first of many more times, if its up to me. We stayed at the El Cozumeleno. After reading mixed reviews on the Resort I have to say that the people who had a bad experience must have something wrong with them, or just be hard to please. Our stay was great! The people and the staff at the hotel were very courteous and would do anything we asked them to. All you have to do is show them that you appreciate their efforts for as little as a $2 to $3 dollar tip. These people get by on what little they have and for us to share what we have with them makes them very appreciative. As I was saying, our room was always spotless and the sheets even got turned back by the maid after our first night of stay and a tip a $3/day. She even helped my wife out with a "sunglasses" issue when all was thought to be lost. This trip we came by ourselves but are anxious to return and take our children. After finding out how well the hotel's staff interacted with the kids we both agree that our kids would love it at the hotel. The water and the beach area at the hotel was also great. We live near the beach and I don't even like going in the water, but the water here is so clear that you feel like you're in a pool. The food at the hotel was not the greatest for my wife but I myself thought that it was good. You have to realize you are in another country and what they make is the way that they see it. If you're planning on a trip to the El Cozumeleno you have to try the snorkeling/scuba trip on the Zorro. It was great, the trip and the drinks/party on the way back to the dock. As I said before, all you have to do is show the people that are waiting on you that you appreciate what they are doing and they can and will make your trip worthwhile. I know that we will be back in Cozumel before too long. Have a great time!
