Cancun & Cozumel Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews Reviews
El Pueblito 02/23/2004
Reviewers Rating: Fair
Well this was my first time to a place any where like this, so I didnt know what to expect. I had seen some pretty poor ratings on this hotel before, but just thought that these people maybe expected way to much out of their hotel and trip. BOY was I wrong. If you want to have a good time, DON'T stay here. The place does look ok, but does need a lot of work and up keeping. We got there and had to wait a while before we went up to our rooms, there were 27 of us, and not one person or couple got the room we had booked 5 months ago. Just because you book a room, doesn't mean you'll get it. If someone walks in off the street that day before you, he'll get it. Out of all of our rooms, about 5 of them faced the sewage plant, which really stank, 10 of them, didn't have toilets that flushed, 7 didn't have a tv that worked, and so on and so forth. You have to pay 2$ a day for a lock for the safe, and the staff isnt that friendly. Everything has to be locked up when you leave the room, or they will take it. If you can't prove it was there, they dont care. My camcorder charger was stollen, nothing was done. My Aunt's camcorder was stollen, nothing was done, and lots of other clothes and personal items. Right out of the rooms. Likely the cleaning lady, because they have the keys. Security guards were caught peeping into rooms at night, and spying in on people to see if their in their rooms. These people are crazy. The food is the same every day, and their drinks are watered down. They dont have face cloths and you have to ask them to bring you towels. There are people there all the time, in red shirts. DONT TALK TO THEM!!!!!! They call them BANDITOS, and they act like they are part of the hotel. they want to sell you time shares for the hotel, and try to rip you off, don't sign anything, if you do, you'll end up getting a bill for about $12,000. and it doesn't guarentee anything. Our trip to Cancun was quite the experience. My mom and Aunt were pick pocketed on the bus, and had ID and passports stolen. People are in your face, all the time to buy stuff and just want to rip you off. Tips are expected everywhere you go, and are in your face until you give it to them. Mexico is a whole different world then what I'm used to. I may go back, but I would NEVER stay at the EL PUEBLITO again!!!!!!! Their moto over there is " you don't lose some thing, it just changes ownership". So watch all of your belongings because it will happen!!!!!!!!! I KNOW
